A fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in Montirat, south-east of Carcassonne, in the Aude department. A house directly threatened by the flames was saved thanks to the efficient and daring efforts of the firefighters.
According to our website specialising in forest fires, around ten hectares have already been destroyed and the fire is still spreading unchecked. Five specialist forest fire response teams are on the scene.
