🔥 A bushfire has been burning since 5.00 pm in the Indre department, in the commune of Migné
Thursday 5 September – 7.30 am: At 7.30 am on Wednesday 5 September, the fire service declared the situation under control. The fire had been contained. A reserve team of firefighters was on its way to the scene to provide logistical support, and more than 70 firefighters remain at the scene.
150 hectares of vegetation burnt, 400 hectares spared
9.20 pm: Fire brigades from Creuse, Indre-et-Loire, Cher and Loir-et-Cher arrived at the scene to provide backup.
8.30 pm: 100 hectares of vegetation were burnt
On Wednesday 4 September, firefighters from the Indre department are deploying a large number of resources in the Lancosme forest, in the commune of Migné.
The alarm was raised at around 5 pm following a brush fire. The blaze spread rapidly. The fire reached the Lancosme forest and was heading towards the hamlet known as ‘Le Pied Brossu’. The farm located there had to be evacuated. A request was also made to close the D58 road, which crosses the road leading to the hamlet.
By early Wednesday evening, the flames had reportedly already consumed around 100 hectares. The fire is now said to be spreading across the municipalities of Migné, Méobecq and Vendoeuvres. The fire service command centre anticipates that the operation could last several days.
