A fire has been reported in the town of Loupian. The SDIS 34 is deploying significant resources to tackle the pine forest fire.
- 7.15 pm : 300 hectares of pine forest and scrubland have been burnt between Loupian and Les Hauts de Bouzigues. Several evacuations have taken place. More than 350 firefighters supported by 4 Canadairs fought the fire.
- 5.00 pm : it is now nearly 250 firefighters who are battling the flames. The fire is spreading rapidly along the A9 motorway, which remains closed to traffic. Numerous evacuations are under way. At least 10 to 15 hectares have already been burnt.
- 3.50 pm : The A9 motorway is closed in both directions between Agde and Sète following the fire. 120 firefighters are now battling the flames, along with the departmental air unit and the Trackers.
Avoid the area.
