INTERNATIONAL. A wildfire has been ravaging the area east of Geyserville, California, since Wednesday evening. At 1 pm, after four hours on the ground, the fire had destroyed 10,000 acres – more than 4,000 hectares. The blaze was still out of control and several evacuation orders were in force.

In an alert, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is urging members of the public affected by evacuation orders to leave the area immediately. Weather conditions are unfavourable for firefighters, as the wind, combined with low humidity, is causing the fire to spread at a particularly rapid rate.

So far, there have been no casualties and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
