During the night between Monday and Tuesday, a firefighter’s car was broken into in the town of Castries, between Montpellier and Lunel, in the Hérault department. According to the website Actu.fr, firefighter uniforms and firefighting gear, as well as climbing equipment and a box containing calendars from the Castries rescue centre, were stolen from the vehicle.
According to our information, which has been confirmed by a security source, the perpetrator of this theft was arrested by the Hérault gendarmerie. "Thanks to your reports and with the support of Castries Town Hall, the police were able to arrest the man dressed in a firefighter’s uniform (as expected) who was attempting to illegally resell the 2020 edition of the calendars that had been stolen the day before.", according to a post on the Hérault Gendarmerie Group’s Facebook page. The perpetrator, who is also facing charges for other offences, has been brought before the court in Montpellier.
