A fire has been reported in the commune of Mayres in the Ardèche department. Around 50 firefighters are tackling the blaze, along with the Dragon 69 civil protection helicopter. The fire is reported to have already spread across around ten hectares.
Update 5.25 pm: The fire continues to spread this mid-afternoon and is reported to have covered 40 to 50 hectares. Around 60 firefighters have been deployed, comprising four forest fire response teams, one supply team and one commando team.
Update 9.45 pm: The fire is still spreading this evening; according to our latest information, it has reportedly spread across nearly 70 hectares.
Updated at 5.10 pm on 23 February: the fire has been extinguished; nearly 80 hectares have been burnt.
