According to our colleagues at the Dauphiné Libéré, a young woman, who was drink-driving, was involved in an accident in Ruoms during the night of Friday 28th to Saturday 29th February.
Alerted at around 3.30 am, officers from the Largentière gendarmerie brigade and the fire brigade went to the scene. On their arrival, the individual, who was still heavily intoxicated, became extremely aggressive. They are reported to have then lunged at the four gendarmes and firefighters who were trying to calm them down.
A first-aider and a soldier were bitten until they bled. As the young woman was out of control, the firefighters were forced to inject her with a sedative.
Complaints have been lodged and the police officer, who was taken to A&E, has been given five days’ sick leave.
