Late on Saturday morning, a knife attack took place on a street and in a shop in Romans-sur-Isère (38).
The attack left at least two people dead and four injured.
The assailant was arrested by the police; the Lyon Criminal Investigation Department is holding him in custody and verifying his identity.
Investigators do not yet know his motives. The counter-terrorism unit is assessing the situation before possibly taking charge of the investigation.
