The GIPS association recently contacted Feux de Forêt with a view to establishing a partnership. The latter stated that it carries out work similar to that of the municipal forest fire committees (CCFF) in collaboration with local authorities throughout France, citing a recent operation to tackle a vegetation fire in the Bouches-du-Rhône as an example.
On Thursday, we came across a tweet from @Pompiers_13. It referred to an operation “without contact with the command post” and “a risk to the safety” of this organisation at the scene of the incident.
That is why we have decided to immediately cease all forms of collaboration with the GIPS association, which, by acting in this way, is putting the lives of its volunteers and those of the firefighters at risk.
The partnership was based on an exchange of visibility and media content (photos and videos) to engage our community.
Feux de Forêt deplores this sort of initiative, which runs counter to its objectives and values.
