•A bush fire is currently burning near Romeyer, in the Drôme department. Emergency services are on the scene.

👉 Update as at 8 August:

The fire is still burning and has spread across around 50 hectares of vegetation.

👉 Update as at 9 August:

The fire is still burning and spreading, and has already consumed 160 hectares. More than 200 firefighters are still at the scene, along with reinforcements from neighbouring departments.

This morning, two firefighters had to be taken to hospital after suffering burns.

👉 Update as at 10 August:

The fire has spread across 280 hectares; more than 300 firefighters are still on site, and a tactical firefighting team carried out backfires during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in an attempt to slow the spread of the blaze.

Work is currently underway to create access tracks to improve firefighting access, using machinery from the ONF and the civil protection service.

👉 Update as at 12 August, 8.00 am:

The fire is still burning, but its spread has slowed; 300 hectares have been burnt.

👉 Update as at 13 August, 8.30 pm

The fire is still burning; around 380 hectares have been burnt, and more than 370 firefighters are on the scene.
