🔴 A fire is currently burning in the commune of Empurany in the Ardèche department (07), apparently caused by the Mastrou storm.
A large number of fire engines are at the scene.
👉 Update as at 11 August, 1.00 pm:
The fire has been brought under control; several firefighters remained on site overnight to keep watch. They were able to deal with a flare-up at around 5.30 this morning.
Around 40 firefighters will remain at the scene throughout the day.
🔴 👉 Update at 7.00 pm:
The fire is still burning and has already spread across 20 hectares between Empurany and Crestet; around a hundred firefighters are on the scene.
A campsite and a hamlet in Le Crestet have been evacuated as a precaution. Several houses in Empurany and Le Crestet are under threat.
Bombardier water-bombing aircraft are currently flying back and forth.
Please ensure that emergency services have unobstructed access.
