Since 1 June, Météo France has been offering a new service, the forest weather. It was initiated by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, in response to the violent wildfires that ravaged France last summer.

Christophe Béchu, Minister for Ecological Transition, explained that this weather would "to help ensure that everyone remains vigilant and to raise awareness of any local decisions, such as those banning walks in the forest when the risks are too high".

This new weather forecast must be to be maintained until the end of September, and is renewed annually, though it may be extended if necessary. It is available and updated daily on the website and the "Forest fires".

For this Saturday 3rd and this Sunday 4th June, Météo France has not classified any department as being at high (orange) or very high (red) risk.
