Weather conditions have a significant influence on the outbreak and spread of fires. With the aim of preventing fires and ensuring that everyone adapts their behaviour in line with the foreseeable risk, the Forest Weather Service provides a forest fire risk level based on weather forecasts and the dryness of the vegetation.

This information is provided at departmental level for the following day and the day after that, with four levels of fire risk: low, moderate, high and very high. The Forest Weather Service does not provide information on current or impending fires. A low risk level does not mean there is no risk of fire in the department.

Depending on local circumstances, local councils and prefectures may restrict access to areas affected by wildfires and limit certain activities. Please check your local prefecture’s website for further information. To protect yourself and your environment, find out the right steps to take on our website feuxdeforet.fr.
