On Monday morning, a fire broke out in the town of Kouvaras, 50 km east of the Greek capital. 1,200 children were evacuated from holiday camps, and the authorities also ordered the evacuation of several seaside resorts.
Seven water-bombing aircraft, four helicopters and 150 Greek firefighters are still battling the two active fire fronts.
A suspect was arrested on Monday evening; he is suspected of having started this massive fire.
