A fire has been reported in the commune of Chanousse (05).

MONDAY 21 AUGUST
6.00 pm - According to the latest figures, 140 hectares have been ravaged by the flames. More than 300 firefighters are still at the scene. The fire has still not been brought under control.
SUNDAY 20 AUGUST
9.30 pm - The 100-hectare mark has been passed just as aerial resources are no longer able to intervene.
8.55 pm - The latest figures show that 85 hectares have been burnt.
8.40 pm - Several district roads in the vicinity of Channousse are due to be closed.
Several columns of reinforcements from 84/04/26 are on the move.
At present, the fire is still spreading.
More than 250 firefighters are at the scene, supported by 6 Canadair aircraft, 2 Dash aircraft and
2 HBE.
8.15 pm - A new assessment puts the area burnt at 70 hectares.
7.30 pm - The fire is reported to have spread across 50 hectares so far, with around 100 firefighters on the scene, supported by aerial resources.
7.10 pm - Four Canadair aircraft from Civil Protection are at the scene. One Milan has been requested as backup.
6.50 pm - A large plume of smoke is visible.
6.15 pm - A major forest fire broke out late this afternoon in the commune of Chanousse (05). Numerous resources from the SDIS 05 are on their way. Several hectares are reportedly under threat.
