On 21 February 2024, in the forest of Cantaron (Alpes-Maritimes), a fire in a caravan spread. It is believed to have started in the early evening. The fire burned 2 hectares of the forest.

A fire brigade operation was quickly organised. There were 80 firefighters, who managed to bring the fire under control. Indeed, the firefighters managed to tackle the flames with great skill. However, their work is not yet over. A team of 25 firefighters is currently working to extinguish the remaining embers.

However, the cause and consequences of the fire are still unknown. To be more precise, the fire broke out at around 6.30 pm in the Tardieu neighbourhood, near the Condamine Tunnel (Alpes-Maritimes).

However, the incident did not put a single home at risk. The fire brigade managed to secure the area quickly. Nevertheless, a 41-year-old man sustained minor injuries and suffered smoke inhalation. It is true that this incident serves as a reminder to each and every one of us of the importance of the work carried out by our brave firefighters. Without them, the consequences could have been far more tragic.
