A wildfire has been burning since 4.00 pm near the Circuit du Var in the town of Le Luc, in the Var department.
The fire service has been alerted, as have the civil protection air resources
FOLLOW-UP:
6.00 pm: The fire has been brought under control; it affected 1.5 hectares of vegetation. The fire was caused by a racing car that caught fire at the side of the track
5.00 pm: The fire has spread across approximately 1 hectare of vegetation; it is now losing intensity thanks to the tremendous ground efforts, supported by water-bombing helicopters as well as the Canadairs and Dash-8s operated by the Civil Protection Agency
4.00 pm: Fire reported following the spread of a vehicle fire.
