🌲 95 hectares have been burned.
🚒 Approximately 60 firefighters and 30 vehicles remain on the scene to contain its spread. The day was spent laying a long-span fireline and supplying it via a rotation of two CCF2000 water tankers transported to a sheepfold located at the mountain’s summit and at the fire’s head, under difficult conditions for the crews. A major flare-up occurred early this morning at the summit of the fire, on both flanks.
🚁 The two water-bombing helicopters provided by Civil Security once again carried out more than 30 strategic drops to contain this area.
⛰️ Response efforts remain extremely challenging due to the complex and dangerous terrain, marked by frequent falls of rocks, incandescent debris, and boulders. These conditions pose a major risk to responders and facilitate the fire’s spread uphill. Starting tomorrow morning, operations will continue on the right flank, and a firebreak will be extended on the left flank using a bulldozer provided by the ONF.
🏥 There are no new injuries to report among the firefighters. Thank you to the Bayons town hall for the food and logistical assistance provided from the start to our firefighters, supported by our support team.
