🔴 #Saint-Just Fire | The fire has been contained but not extinguished After several days of response efforts, the fire has now been contained in the Saint-Just area, though it has not yet been extinguished. 📌 This development marks an important milestone in the fight against the fire. Firefighters remain fully mobilized to address hot spots, monitor the perimeter, and prevent the fire from reigniting. 📊 The affected area is still estimated at 230 hectares. 🚒 Ground and aerial resources remain deployed on the ground. The sub-prefect of Redon is still on site alongside the response teams, and the prefecture’s secretary general has also visited the command post and the evacuation center. ⚠️ Traffic restrictions and safety measures remain in effect. Evacuees must continue to follow the authorities’ instructions and must not return to their homes without authorization. 🚒 Resources Deployed: 222 firefighters are currently on the scene, including 130 from SDIS 35.

The reinforcement unit from Normandy, consisting of 65 firefighters, has been on the scene since last night.

➡️ Rotations and reinforcements are underway. The force will be increased to 254 firefighters, including 154 from SDIS 35, with 72 vehicles deployed.

🔴 #Fire | Update at 6:00 p.m. 🔥 The situation is worsening in Saint-Just due to rising temperatures and strong gusts of wind. 📍 Update as of this hour: 📊 More than 220 hectares have been affected by the fire. 🚨 Evacuations underway: 157 people have been evacuated so far. The intense blaze quickly spread eastward. About 100 residents were evacuated. 🔺Shifting winds forced crews to reorganize their response efforts several times. 🔺The deployment of national aerial resources, including a water-bombing aircraft, helped reduce the intensity of the fire and narrow the fire front. 🔺Up to 250 firefighters from Ille-et-Vilaine, Mayenne, and Finistère were deployed to the scene👨‍🚒👨‍🚒. They worked tirelessly to attack the fire head-on and establish long firebreaks in areas inaccessible to fire trucks👍. Nearly 130 of them remained on duty all night to contain the fire. Unfortunately, two firefighters suffered heat-related illnesses, and one firefighter was injured this morning in a fall. His injuries were not serious; he was treated and transported to the Redon Hospital. 🔺Teams are currently focused on treating the fire’s edges and hot spots, but remain vigilant given the heat wave, the drought, and the ever-present shifting winds. 🔺Despite the teams’ efforts, the burned vegetation is estimated at nearly 200 hectares. Saint-Just: Update The fire that broke out in the town of Saint-Just is no longer spreading at this time. 📊 Current status: 🔥 200 hectares of forest, heathland, and fields have been engulfed by flames; 🏠 No homes or buildings have been affected; 🧑 96 people were evacuated as a precautionary measure and are being cared for by the municipalities of Saint-Just and Pipriac, with support from Civil Protection. 🤝 Emergency resources remain heavily mobilized The departmental operations center (COD) remains active at the prefecture, and the sub-prefect of the Redon district is on site this morning. Currently, 131 firefighters and 34 vehicles have been deployed. Reinforcements in the form of wildfire tanker trucks from the Morbihan and Mayenne fire and rescue services (SDIS) have also been mobilized, along with a helicopter. The National Gendarmerie is securing and cordoning off the area.
